August 9, 2022- MARITIME COMMONS- The world's major classification societies will be playing a prominent role in SHIPPINGInsight 2022- the Decade of Demand being held October 11-13th at the Stamford Hilton in Stamford, CT. Top leadership from ABS, DNV and LR will all be on hand to share their insights on industry’s challenges—and solutions—as Platinum Partners, with other class societies expected to join shortly.
Chris Wiernicki, CEO of ABS, will be kicking off the event focusing on what is Driving the Decade of Demand on October 11th with a roundtable discussion on the topic to follow, moderated by Roy Bleiberg of ABS and featuring Natasha Brown of IMO, Randy Giveans of Gaslog, environmental champions and shipowners. Keegon Plaskon of ABS will also be driving the discussion at the Regulatory Compliance Challenges Deep Dive, featuring Tom Hudson of MOL Group.
DNV’s CEO Knut Orbeck-Nilssen will open Day 2 of SHIPPINGInsight with a keynote on “Closing the Gap Between Aspiration and Reality”, which will be followed by a roundtable discussion on the “Demand for Digitalization” led by Simon Mockler of DNV and featuring Nathalie Sykora, Chief Global Operations Officer at the CSL Group and Torsten Pederson, COO of Seaspan. They will also host the Deep Dive: Energy Alternatives session moderated by Jan Hagen Andersen.
Lloyd’s Register President of the Americas, Kevin Humphries, will kick off Day 3 addressing the “Demand for Disruption” which will be followed by a roundtable addressing how maritime executives can effectively respond to this demand and optimize the opportunity for change. This will be followed by SHIPPINGInsight’s SHARK TANK showcasing new technologies for the industry.
SHIPPINGInsight 2022--Decade of Demand event will explore the demands for decarbonization, digitalization, transparency, defense, decisions and disruption in leadership roundtables. This will be augmented by Deep Dive sessions presenting details about solutions. Each evening will offer social networking including Celebrity Karaoke and Band Jam.
