Offshore drilling contractor Maersk Drilling has received a notice of early termination for
convenience of a one-well rig contract with Dana Petroleum in Denmark. The rig contract
was first announced in Maersk Drilling’s May 2020 Fleet Status Report. The contract was
awarded by Dana Petroleum to the Maersk Resilient jack-up rig. It was supposed to have an
estimated duration of 110 days breitling replica and the start date to be agreed upon with the customer. The
Maersk Resilient was hired for operations offshore Denmark with a day rate of $105,000.
Maersk Drilling said on Friday that, following the termination, it expects to receive
compensation in the form of a termination fee. The contract had previously been deferred
from the date of originally expected beginning. The Maersk Resilient is a 350ft, Gustoengineered MSC CJ50 rig with design optimisation inputs from Maersk Drilling. The rig was
built in 2008. Back in November 2020, the Maersk Resilient secured a contract from
Petrogas in the Dutch North Sea. The contract was for the drilling of three wells at the B13
and A12 fields. It was expected to start in November 2020 and have an estimated duration
of 110 days.
